Essential Oils - YankeeScents Potpourri

We've recently begun offering several essential oils through our site. Unlike fragrance oils -- which are created in a lab -- essential oils are actually derived from the plants themselves. Because it can take many pounds of a particular plant to get an ounce of oil, essential oils can be considerably more expensive than their fragrant oil counterparts. Their therapeutic uses in fields such as aromatherapy is often well documented, although you should carefully research any oil before trying to put it to any such uses.

What we have in stock is a rather short list so far, but we'll be adding to it over the next few weeks, so be sure to stop back! We also offer brass aroma rings and eye droppers, which can be found at the bottom of the page.

Cedarwood Essential Oil

Cedarwood oil can be used for everything from replenishing an old cedar trunk smell and keeping away moths to helping with conditions like arthritis and acne. It is also a very calming scent, and a perfect way to help ease anxiety and assist in meditation.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Eucalyptus oil is used extensively for anything having to do with the respiratory system, particularly colds, coughing, the flu and bronchitis. It is also alleged to be useful in helping to treat arthritis and poor circulation, and as a mood enhancer. Be sure to also check out our Eucalyptus Essential Potpourri.

Lavender Essential Oil

In addition to being used for centuries to treat everything from migraines and sore muscles to the immune and circulatory systems, lavender has also long been used as a way to help one achieve a more relaxed state. Be sure to also check out our Lavender Essential Potpourri.

Lemon Essential Oil

A bit more powerful than other citrus scents such as orange (see below), lemon essential oil can provide a real pick-me-up in an otherwise lackluster day. Be sure to also check out our Lemon Essential Potpourri.

Orange Essential Oil

Orange is another essential oil that can really rejuvenate you. It has a sweeter scent than our lemon oil above. Be sure to also check out our Orange Essential Potpourri.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Who doesn't love peppermint? Peppermint flavoring is used extensively by the food and other industries in everything from candies to toothpaste. Rosemary Essential Oil

Very reminiscent of eucalyptus, but with a strong piney undercurrent, rosemary is a powerful scent that is very uplifting. Be sure to also check out our Rosemary Essential Potpourri.

Oil Accessories

Add oil and place these atop light bulbs, which then heat and release the oil.
