Bath Salts
Epsom salts are sort of the gold standard when it comes to bath therapy. They increase magnesium amounts in the body, which can help to relieve stress and increase feelings of well-being and relaxation. Epsom salts also provide sulfates which, when absorbed through the skin, can help in any number of ways, from forming brain tissue and joint proteins to helping to detoxify the body. Israel's southern Dead Sea has a salt concentration that is ten times (33% vs. 3%) that of ocean water, and this salt is highly prized for its therapeutic properties. Visitors flock to the region every year to soak/float in the briny body of water and relieve skin and rheumatic disorders, as well as shed stress in the highly concentrated magnesium, potassium, calcium chlorides and bromides that make up the Dead Sea salts. To give these salts a little bit more of a tubby "oompf", we add a choice of essential oils, which have been used for centuries in alternative medicine to relax, rejuvenate or otherwise treat a number of conditions within the body. Use: We recommend adding 1/2 cup YankeeScents bath salts to an already-drawn tub and then soaking for at least 15-20 minutes to get the most benefit from them. Repeat three times a week.
